Hello fellow dog friends, my name is Emmanuil and I'm Greek/Italian. Eight years ago, when I still lived in Greece, I walked in the streets of an old village. Suddenly, I heard noises coming from an old, destroyed house and I went to investigate. At the door of the destroyed house I found two puppies of mixed Labrador breed. The puppies were dirty and they had nothing to eat or drink. I certainly couldn't leave them there, this would have been fatal for them.
I decided to return to the village and ask around whose dogs they were. Of course, no one felt responsible and came forward. That’s when I decided to take the dogs home. I took great care of them, I bathed them, gave them food and something to drink and also took them to the vet. I wanted to keep the puppies and continue to take great care of them, however, my living situation didn’t allow for two dogs. So, I found another animal friend for one puppy to take amazing care of and love them for the rest of their life. The other one, Pluto, has stayed with me ever since. Shortly after, I took in another cat I found in the streets. After 1 month she gave birth to 6 beautiful kittens, whom I found great homes for. Lastly, I rescued Nina, a hamster, who almost died of suffocating heat. They enjoyed a great life with me. Right now, I still have Pluto with me.
Certainly, although I love my pet, I couldn’t and can’t always bring him along with me everywhere. So, sometimes I had to rely on either family and friends to take care of my furry friends, or leave them in the hands of a skilled dog sitter. Six months ago, I moved to Brussels and I would like to offer the same piece of mind to you when you can’t bring along your dog. If you leave your loved one with me, you can rest assured that they will get enough fresh air, movement and cuddles. I would love to take your dog(s) for a walk, together with Pluto, and play with them outside. We take walks of at least 45 minutes at the park (Park Josaphat), where there is also a fenced area where the dogs can run freely.
Although Pluto is a very friendly dog and gets along well with most other dogs, I would like to have a first meet & greet to see whether they match well. Then you will also get to know my partner. She works from home and will be there, whenever I can’t. She also accompanies us on all walking tours and will be there for the meet & greet, too.
We are eager to get to know you and your furry friend and hope to welcome him/her soon!
I cannot stress this enough: Manuel and Alexa are the best hosts ever. Baco was extremely well taken care of, with lots of walks every day, lots of treats, lots of love and even a bath. The communication was constant, sending a lot of fun pictures and videos, showing how happy he was. If you need someone to take care of your dog as if it was their own, don’t hesitate.
From the beginning the communication was fast and clear. We made the booking with a short notice but we managed to agree to meet very soon and then confirm the stay as well. During the stay our dog got a lot of outside exercise and good care. We got daily pictures and messages and everything was very flexible! The hosts were obviously very good with dogs and could handle our dog even if he wasn't the easiest to handle in the beginning. We have confidence in the hosts and would absolutely trust them with our dog again !
