Hi, I’m Nikki, a passionate animal lover with a special soft spot for dogs 🐾 I’m a previous dog owner and have volunteered in an animal shelter, giving me hands-on experience with a wide range of dog personalities, behaviours, and needs. I’ve also attended dog training sessions with my own dogs, which helped me better understand communication, structure, and positive reinforcement. I truly understand how important it is to find someone you can fully trust with your pet.

My services include:

• Dog walks (30 min / 60 min / longer on request)
• Overnight pet care in my home (including regular walks)
• Pet check-ins in your home (within reasonable distance of Kruibeke)

Home environment

I currently do not have any other pets in my home, which means your dog will receive my full attention without any risk of personality conflicts with other animals. There are also no children in my home - ensuring a calm, stable, and low-stress environment for visiting pets.

Dog walks & outdoor time

My dog walks take place close to my home in a beautiful forest reserve with plenty of trails. It’s a calm and enriching environment where dogs can safely explore, enjoy nature, and get both physical exercise and mental stimulation. Depending on the dog’s needs, walks can be relaxed sniffing walks or longer, more active outings.

Day-to-day care & routine (overnight stays)

When pets stay with me, they are integrated into my daily routine and receive consistent attention, companionship, and cuddles & care throughout the day. I am generally working from home and I am able to supervise pets closely, meaning they are never left alone for long periods. If I do need to step out briefly, I ensure they are safe, settled, and comfortable, and I keep time away to a minimum.

A typical day starts with a morning walk in the forest reserve, focusing on toilet breaks, fresh air, and exercise suited to the dog’s energy level. After the walk, I follow the owner’s feeding schedule exactly and ensure fresh water is always available. Even on walks.

Throughout the day, I adapt activities based on each dog’s individual needs—this can include additional walks for energetic dogs & puppies, playtime, mental stimulation, or calm rest time. High-energy dogs receive more active engagement and exercise, while more relaxed or senior dogs are given a calm and quiet environment where they can feel secure and rest comfortably.

After walks, I make sure dogs are clean and comfortable before coming back inside when needed, especially in wet or muddy conditions.

Evenings typically include another walk, dinner (if scheduled), and quiet time to help pets settle for the night in a calm and reassuring environment.

Care, communication & safety

Your pet’s wellbeing, safety, and happiness are always my top priority. I follow all owner instructions carefully, including feeding routines, training preferences, medication, and behavioural notes.

In case of an emergency, I will immediately contact the owner and take the pet to the nearest veterinary clinic if needed. I only accept vaccinated pets to ensure a safe environment for all animals in my care.

I also provide regular updates with photos and messages of your pet (daily or more often if preferred), so you always feel connected and reassured while you’re away.
