Activities, Care & My Approach Every dog is different, and that is exactly how I approach pet care. With more than 10 years of experience raising, training, and caring for dogs, I have learned how to understand their individual personalities, body language, routines, and emotional needs. Whether your dog is energetic, shy, anxious, elderly, or still a puppy, I adapt my care to help them feel safe, relaxed, and happy. My priority is not simply supervising your dog, but creating an environment where they receive attention, exercise, mental stimulation, affection, and consistent care throughout the day. Outdoor Walks & Adventures I believe walks should be enjoyable, enriching experiences rather than just bathroom breaks. Depending on your dog’s age, breed, health, and energy level, we will explore beautiful green areas including Bois de la Cambre, the Sonian Forest, and quieter parks around Ixelles. During our walks I pay close attention to your dog’s pace, behaviour, and surroundings. I avoid stressful situations, busy roads when possible, and always keep safety as my highest priority. I encourage healthy exploration by allowing dogs to sniff, discover new environments, and enjoy nature, which provides valuable mental stimulation as well as physical exercise. For high-energy breeds, I can provide longer walks, jogging, hiking-style adventures, and active play. For senior dogs or dogs recovering from illness or surgery, I provide slower, shorter walks focused on comfort and gentle movement. Exercise, Play & Mental Enrichment Exercise alone is not enough. Dogs also need mental stimulation to stay balanced and happy. Throughout the day we play interactive games using balls, ropes, toys, scent games, fetch, and other activities suited to your dog’s interests. I also enjoy teaching and reinforcing basic commands using positive reinforcement, rewards, and patience. Because of my experience with dogs, I understand when they need excitement and when they need rest. I never force activities and always respect each dog’s comfort level. Reading Dog Behaviour One of the most valuable skills I have developed over the years is understanding canine body language. I pay attention to subtle signals including: • stress or anxiety • excitement levels • signs of fear • overstimulation • discomfort • play behaviour • confidence around other dogs • changes in appetite or energy Recognising these signals early helps prevent stressful situations and allows me to respond calmly before small problems become bigger ones. Building Trust I understand that many dogs need time to adjust to a new environment. Rather than overwhelming them, I allow each dog to settle at their own pace. I build trust through consistency, calm behaviour, gentle communication, and positive experiences. I never use punishment or harsh corrections. My goal is for your dog to see me as someone they feel safe with. Daily Routine Every dog’s routine is customised, but a typical day may include: Morning • Potty break • 60–90 minute walk • Breakfast • Playtime or enrichment activities • Rest Afternoon • Walk or park visit • Interactive games • Fresh water check • Relaxation time Evening • Longer walk depending on energy level • Play or training • Dinner • Calm bonding time before bedtime The schedule is always adjusted to your dog’s normal routine so they experience as little disruption as possible. Feeding & Hydration I carefully follow your feeding schedule and portion sizes exactly as instructed. Fresh water is always available and checked regularly throughout the day. If your dog has allergies, a sensitive stomach, or a specialised diet, I strictly follow your instructions to avoid digestive problems. Medication & Special Care If your dog requires medication, I am happy to administer it according to your instructions and your veterinarian’s recommendations. I carefully follow timings, dosages, and any special requirements to ensure your pet receives consistent care. If your dog has mobility issues, anxiety, recent surgery, or other health conditions, I adapt their routine to keep them comfortable and safe. Socialisation If your dog enjoys meeting other dogs, I can provide safe opportunities for socialisation. I never force interactions. I carefully observe body language and only allow introductions when both dogs appear relaxed and comfortable. If your dog prefers people over dogs, I fully respect that as well. Cleanliness & Grooming I help keep dogs clean after walks by wiping muddy paws when needed and checking for small injuries, ticks, burrs, or anything unusual. I also pay attention to coat condition, ears, eyes, and general hygiene, informing owners immediately if I notice anything concerning. Safety Comes First Your dog’s safety is my highest priority. I always: • Double-check collars, harnesses, and leads before walks. • Monitor weather conditions and adjust activities accordingly. • Avoid dangerous areas or unsafe situations. • Supervise dogs during play. • Keep harmful objects and foods out of reach. • Never leave dogs unattended in unsafe environments. Home Environment My home is calm, clean, and pet-friendly. I spend most of my time working from home or enjoying outdoor activities, meaning your dog receives plenty of companionship throughout the day. The only regular period I am usually away is during my gym session, approximately three hours. Before leaving, I ensure your dog has been exercised, fed if necessary, has fresh water, comfortable resting space, enrichment toys, and everything they need to feel relaxed until I return. Communication With Owners I know how important it is to know your pet is doing well while you’re away. I’m happy to provide regular updates including photos, videos, and messages about walks, meals, playtime, naps, and how your dog is feeling throughout the day. If I ever notice anything unusual, I will contact you immediately. My Philosophy Dogs are family members, not just pets. I treat every dog with patience, kindness, consistency, and genuine affection. My goal is not only to meet their basic needs but to make them feel secure, understood, and genuinely happy while they are in my care. I want every dog to go home relaxed, well exercised, emotionally fulfilled, and excited to visit again.
