I have grown up on a farm surrounded by animals, which has given me a genuine love for animals as well as many years of hands-on experience caring for them. From horses and farm animals to dogs and cats, I am comfortable with a wide variety of animals and understand that every pet has its own personality, routine and needs. I have several years of experience with dog and cat sitting. I took a hiatus from pet sitting to focus on my studies, but I am now happy to return to something I have always enjoyed. For dog walking, my typical walks last around 45 minutes, giving your dog plenty of time for exercise, exploration and attention. For home visits, I generally allow up to 1 hour, which gives me time to feed your pet, refresh their water, provide attention and playtime, and take care of their usual needs. I am comfortable with domestic animals, but I do not currently offer care for reptiles (I have only experience with tortoises and turtles). When pets are staying at home, I am mindful of how long they are left alone and generally recommend a maximum of 4 hours between visits, depending on the individual animal and their needs. Your pet’s safety and home security are very important to me. I take extra care with doors, gates and windows, particularly when caring for cats or animals that could escape. I will always make sure doors are properly closed before moving between rooms or leaving the property. For keys, I am happy to follow your preferred arrangement and will handle keys responsibly, keeping them secure and never labelling them with your address. I can return them as agreed at the end of the booking. During house sitting or longer stays, I am happy to provide regular updates and photos, with the frequency agreed with you beforehand. If an emergency occurs, I will contact you immediately and follow your instructions regarding your preferred veterinarian or emergency contact. If you are unreachable, I will act in your pet’s best interests and seek appropriate veterinary assistance when necessary. I always aim to follow your pet’s normal routine and make sure they feel safe, comfortable and cared for while you are away. 🐾
