Hi! I’m a student at KU Leuven and a huge dog lover 🐾 Back home in South Korea, my family has two dogs, and taking care of them has been a big part of my everyday life for years. Our first dog is a 16 kg Black Lab mix, born in July 2020. She originally came to our family as a foster dog when she was about five months old. We were only supposed to foster her for around three months, but of course, we ended up falling in love with her and adopting her permanently! Since then, I’ve been involved in pretty much every part of her daily care — walking, feeding, brushing, brushing her teeth, giving medication, cleaning up after her, wiping her paws after walks, bathing her, and, of course, lots of playing and cuddles. Our second dog was born in April 2021 and originally lived with my grandmother before joining our family in June 2024. I’ve taken care of her in the same way, so I’m very comfortable following different routines and adapting to each dog’s personality and needs. I also have experience volunteering at dog shelters. While studying in the US, I volunteered at a local dog shelter from February to June 2023, usually every two or three weeks. I mainly walked the dogs, cleaned their kennels, played with them, and gave them some extra attention and company. Before that, I also occasionally volunteered at dog shelters in Korea for about two years during high school. What I can offer 🐶 I currently offer dog walking and home visits. Unfortunately, I’m not able to look after dogs in my own home. For walks, I normally plan for around 30 minutes, but I’m happy to adjust the length depending on your dog’s usual routine and your preference. I can generally offer up to two walks per day. I’m comfortable with small, medium, and larger dogs, and I actually have a soft spot for medium and large dogs! Since my own dog weighs around 16 kg, I’m very comfortable walking and handling dogs around that size. For particularly strong, highly energetic, or reactive dogs, I’d prefer to discuss their walking behavior with you beforehand to make sure I can safely handle them outside. I’m not scared of dogs that may be a little difficult or reactive, so I can still be comfortable keeping them company and playing with them at home; my main concern is simply being able to safely control them during a walk. For home visits, I’m quite flexible with both the length of the visit and what you’d like me to do. I can feed your dog, refill their water, play with them, keep them company, take them outside, clean up after them, brush them, wipe their paws, and give oral medication if needed. Just let me know your dog’s normal routine and I’ll do my best to follow it so things feel as familiar as possible while you’re away. I can also look after up to two dogs from the same household. If both need walks, I would generally prefer to walk them separately so I can give each dog my full attention and keep the walk safe and comfortable. As a student, my schedule is fairly flexible, and since my university is nearby, it’s usually easy for me to make time for visits and walks. We can arrange the timing based on both your schedule and mine. And I’m always happy to send photos, videos, and little updates during visits or walks 📸🐕 I know how reassuring it is to see that your dog is doing well when you’re away. Now that I’m living away from my dogs in Korea, I really miss having dogs around.
